Yes I Can Unity Through Music & Education (YIC) is thrilled to announce that our 2023 short documentary Music Festival Visionaries has been selected to screen at the Blu Star Film Festival in Santa Ana, CA on May 2, 2026. The film takes viewers behind the scenes as 12 YIC students with disabilities plan and produce a single-day music festival from the ground up: The Good Karma Music & Arts Festival, a bold rebranding of YIC's acclaimed Summer Meltdown, which ran annually from 2004–2016 in Santa Clarita, CA. Born out of a yearlong live event production internship launched in partnership with College of the Canyons, the festival and the film capture what's possible when young adults are given practical, hands-on career training in live entertainment, film, photography, audio engineering, production management, and more.
Join us in-person at the Blu Star Film Festival where you can meet and mingle with the YIC crew as well as other filmmakers, artists, and leaders in neurodivergent and disability representation!
About the event: Blu Star Productions is a company founded by an artist with a disability for artists with disabilities. Our goal is to empower disabled artists and creators across the globe with the resources needed to showcase their groundbreaking talents.
The inaugural BluStar Film Festival will take place in person at The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana California on Saturday May 2nd, with in person blocks screening blocks taking place from 3pm-11pm
